As a real kaleidoscope, the album “Road Trip” is well named. On this album, regrouping of 8 original compositions of Vincent Ghilbert, the flying fishes bring us into new urban jazz dimensions. Accompanied by baffling beats, the band invites the listener into dreams that are quite literally mind-blowing.
Making fun with their own references (to name but a few: Fauré, Tortoise, BoyanZ, Steve Coleman, Herbalizer,… ), the quartet juggles with its own influences. They share big sound, blending improvisation and arrangements with pleasure.
“Emerging from the ocean of jazz to harvest other colors and sounds, this is a jazz album that literally runs on energy!” ***(Le Soir).
“This quartet composed of four musicians from different and complimentary musical backgrounds that offers its diverse and surprising blend of deap sounds. Discover some of them on their first album Road Trip. A feast for the ear!” *** (L’agenda)
